of fun!
In this book you’ll find a
wide range of weekly classes

week-long camps at spring
break and summer holidays.
There are courses for 3 year

Adventures in Acting for
Ages 3-19
Actor training is an adventure
in self-discovery, including
stories, games, improvisation,
and learning to perform.
Every class includes an open
class or an end-of-year
showcase so guests can share in
class successes.
On Stage
Students age 9 and up are
invited to audition for one of
MTYP’s student performance
companies: The Junior
Company, The Musical
Theatre Company, The
Musical Theatre Junior

Acting for the camera and
learning to make your own

you’ll learn in courses and
camps offered year round.
Show your work publicly,
and enter competitions and
festivals. Class projects are
posted on MTYP’s account
on the website Vimeo, so you
can watch them anytime you
want!
Variety and Discounts
Courses at MTYP cover a
broad range of professional
skills: acting for the stage,
acting for camera, singing,
dancing, improv, and more.
There’s a lot to choose from!
Students taking more than one

MTYP is dedicated to serving
every young person in the
Winnipeg region, regardless of

PARENTS! Here’s a creative, nurturing and exhilarating environment for your
children. Discovering theatre is an energizing encounter with words, stories, and
imagination. Make-believe and dramatic play build confidence and support
cognitive development. Open classes keep parents in touch with class successes.

One of the greatest gifts a
child can offer is an invitation
to play. In this course, adults
participate with their children
in various forms of imaginative
play, songs, and stories. Watch
your child’s natural love of
stories blossom along with his
or her confidence and group
skills.
The perfect class for the drama
dynamo in your family. An
adventure in imagination
and pure fun, with stories
to captivate and stimulate,
costumes to try on, and lots of
moving, acting, and dramatic
play. Kids encounter the world
of theatre while growing in
confidence and cooperation
skills.
A fun and encouraging
introduction to theatre and
drama. Students develop their
imaginations and powers of
self-expression through drama
games, music and dance, story
theatre, and role playing. A
great class for anyone who
loves to make believe!

24/7: A Festival of

takes place
January 16 & 17, 2016
Scenes and
Monologues: an
Intense Workshop
for Teens
13 years & up
Scenes and Monologues are
the “science” and “magic” of
theatre:
A scene is like “science”. It’s
the chemistry you create
with your scene partner: the
dynamic relationship with a
real, believable emotional
connection that makes a
play sizzle and keeps people
coming to the theatre.
Monologues, however, are like
“magic” – you cast a spell over
your audience when you take
centre stage. When you deliver
a spellbinding performance
at an audition, it can win you
the part.
This intensive training
workshop brings up your
overall acting skills by
equipping you to excel in
scenes and build a repertoire
of effective monologues.
