Family Camp 2016!
The Fair Havens Team is delighted to
present the 2016 Fair Havens Summer
Program Schedule in the enclosed pages!
2016 promises to be a very exciting year of
ministry for Fair Havens & its staff... and it’s
OUR 75th Anniversary! We will delve into the ‘promises’ of God with
the intent of awakening & renewing a desire in each of us to ‘Remember
God’s Faithfulness. Press On in God’s Promises’ in a more personal
and intimate way. We know that He Pardoned us from our Sin; He is
always Present; He gives us Perfect Peace; He hears our Prayers; He
Provides & Protects; He is All Powerful; He is our Perfect Plan of
Salvation. He IS Awesome!
Our prayer for each one of our guests is found in Ephesians 1:17 “I pray
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you
spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him.”
The Fair Havens team is excited to host you and your family this summer
and trust that you will be blessed as you invest in time together – to
reFresh, reFocus & reConnect - in the beauty of God’s creation.
There are programs & experiences for all ages.

Nine special Sunday evening presentations await you this summer
during Family Camp. You will be inspired and entertained with our
line-up of outstanding performers and quality films. All the details
are listed here! Doors open at 6:30pm.
Northern Spirit Big Band
Sunday, July 3, 7:00PM
THE NORTHERN SPIRIT BIG BAND comprised of up to
20 musicians was formed in 2011 for the purpose of
playing gospel music in a big band style. Very quickly
it was realized that the band was capable of
presenting other venues as well, including standards
of the big band era, vocal and instrumental solos,
popular ballads and selected classical music. They
are blessed with musicians from many backgrounds
both professional and semi-professional. Many have
music degrees and some are currently music
educators both privately and within the school
system.
Drama – “Searching for Abraham” Presented by
Jason Hildebrand
Sunday, July 10, 7:00PM
Award-winning filmmaker, Jason Hildebrand,
presents a theatrical solo performance – Searching
for Abraham. He is known for his faith and
following the voice of God. It explores the theme
of trusting God’s promises regardless of
circumstances. ‘Relationship trumps obedience
and promises are more significant than outcomes.’
It is an incredibly honest and vulnerable multimedia production in which one man’s modern day
journey finds expression through the story of the
patriarch Abraham.
6
Movie – War Room (weeks 3 & 9)
Sunday, July 17 & August 28, 7:00PM
Another Kendrick Brothers film, WAR ROOM, is a
compelling drama with humour and heart that
explores the power that prayer can have on every
area of our lives. The Jordans seemingly have it
all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their
dream house. Appearances can be deceiving. Their
world is actually crumbling under the strain of a
failing marriage. Miss Clara, Elizabeth’s newest
client, challenges Elizabeth to establish a prayer
“war room” and a battle plan of prayer for her
family. As Elizabeth begins to fight for her family,
Tony must decide if he will make amends.
Ali Matthews
Sunday, July 24, 7:00PM
Songwriting is Ali’s natural passion blending mature
and sensitive lyrics with evocative, compelling
melodies that weave the “spiritual” into everyday life
experiences. Stratford recording artist, Ali Matthews’
songwriting and performing are highly respected in
both the Christian and the mainstream music
industry. She has received 18 GMA Covenant awards
including GMA Female Vocalist of the year and a total
of 36 nominations. She has released 7 critically
acclaimed CD’s since 2000 on her independent music
label, Shake-a-Paw Music which are distributed
nationally through David C. Cooke Distribution.
75th Weekend Celebration – The Master’s Four
Sunday, July 31, 7:00PM
The Master’s Four, recognized today as one of
Canada’s leading gospel quartets, are celebrating
30 years of Southern Gospel ministry, and we are
delighted to have them back at Fair Havens this
summer! They released their 8th CD “30 Years” in
celebration of this ministry milestone. The Master’s
Four were honoured with the 2013 Covenant
Award for ‘Southern Gospel Song of the Year’ for
their song “Don’t Forget About The Cross”, written
by David Peneycad. Join us for a God- honouring,
toe-tapping evening of Southern Gospel music at
its finest!

Jody Cross
Sunday, August 7, 7:00PM
Jody grew up in Ottawa and has been in pastoral
ministry for 25 years. He has served predominantly
in the area of worship ministry in both church
plants and established churches. He’s been married
to Alexandra for 25 years and together they have 4
children (ages 14-20). Jody is an encourager and
equipper and spends time developing young
leaders. He is a pastor, artist, teacher and songwriter. He obtained his D. Min (Christian Leadership)
from Gordon Conwell Seminary and loves to lead
God’s people and worship teams into greater
glimpses of the glory of God.
The Proverbs
Sunday, August 14, 7:00PM
The Proverbs are one of Canada's best known
Christian music artists, with an impressive musical
career that began in 1967. They have been voted
Canada's top mixed gospel group more than a dozen
times and have also shared billing with many of
gospel music's top US artists, including those who are
regularly featured on the popular Gaither Homecoming video series! As born- again believers, The Proverbs
are dedicated to sharing their personal faith through
quality musical performances that combine music,
humour, and professional multi-media production
that is sure to be appreciated by listeners of all ages.
Jay Calder
Sunday, August 21, 7:00PM
The guitar has been a passion for Jay Calder for most of
his life. It wasn’t until Jay started listening to artists like
Michael Hedges, Phil Keaggy and other finger-style
guitar virtuosos that he discovered a new creative pallet
for his own compositions. A few months after Jay's first
solo guitar CD, "Breakfast With Barnabas" was released,
it was nominated at the Canadian Vibe Awards as
"Instrumental Album of the Year". He began performing
solo guitar in a variety of venues in southern Ontario. Jay
received “Best Acoustic Artist” at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. He travels across Canada playing at
concerts, worship events and church services.

attending Tyndale University College, he sensed
God calling him to teach eternal truths both to
students and adults in the context of a local
church. Since graduating, he has served as a youth
pastor, ‘solo’ pastor, associate pastor, and now as the lead pastor. He’s also
furthered his education with a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry

Martin Goode met his wife Rebecca at Prairie Bible
College and married, knowing God’s calling on their
lives for pastoral ministry. Martin began part-time in
Bridgewater NS, then as an associate at Peoples
Church of Montreal, before moving with their four
children to become Senior Pastor of Grace Gospel
Church, Niagara Falls. Martin has worked
“shoulder-to-shoulder” with the Niagara Falls City
Church Network, appreciating the role of Christ’s (diverse) Church in fulfilling
the mandate of making disciples until Christ returns. Along with preaching,
leading and pastoral care, nothing brings more joy to his heart than seeing
people “get it”—to understand God’s Word and grow to follow close to Jesus
more faithfully, confidently, and fruitfully.

years, Scott maintains the conviction that the local
church is God’s chosen instrument for world
transformation through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
With a pastor’s heart, Scott longs to see the church in Canada thrive as it
produces confident and mature disciples of Jesus Christ who are prepared to
confront the battle ground of ideas that ensnare Christians and hold Canadian culture captive against receiving the “good news” found in Christ. Scott
