Directions: Go to the following website:
https://www-k6.thinkcentral.com/ePC/start.do
Use the log in that is taped to the top of your laptop. If you are absent or completing the
assignment for homework, use student30 as the username and science as the password.
Go to Student Resources. Click on “My Library” then click on “student resources”.
Next, click on Unit 3 Cells and go down to Lesson 3 “Levels of Cellular Organization”. Next to
that, click on the digital lesson arrow. Follow the instructions given for each slide.
After or while you watch the digital lesson, answer the following questions. You can also use
the textbook (pages 132-143).
For today’s lesson, you will view the digital lesson and answer the following questions:
Screen 2: Essential Questions
1. How are plants and animals different from one another?
Screen 3 – Major organs of the human body
2. Which organ pumps blood to body parts?
3. List other organs that you are familiar with and their function in the plant or animal.
4. Why are cells called the building blocks of life?

Screen 4 – Unicellular and multi-cellular organisms
5. Which is larger, a cell or an organ?
6. What are some examples of unicellular organisms?
Screen 5 - Tissues
7. How are plants’ roots and stems similar to bones in animals?
8. Why do you think cells in protective tissues are packed tightly together?
Screen 6 – How are they different?
9. What are some specialized functions of plant parts?
10. Why do you think multicellular organisms have levels of organization?
Screen 7 – Organs
11. What structures make up the organs of plants and animals?

Screen 8 – Organ systems
12. Why is it important that organs work together in an organ system?
13. How is a plant’s leaf similar to a human’s nose?
Screen 9 – Organs and organ systems
14. What are some organs that are part of the digestive system?
15. What are some examples of organs in plants?
Screen 10 – Cell structure and function
16. Skin is just one of the organs that allow humans to carry out life processes. How does the
structure of lungs, another set of organs, support their function?
17. Why do some animals have a greater amount of a certain specialized tissue, such as fat
tissue in a walrus?
Screen 11 – Keeping cells healthy
18. What are the functions of your stomach and intestines during digestion?

19. Explain how a plant uses specialized parts to make food.
Screen 12 – How systems work together
20. What is a major difference between the respiratory and the circulatory system?
Screen 14 – Levels of organization
21. Do unicellular organisms have specialized cells? Explain your answer.
22. What is an organism, and how can a single cell be considered an organism?
