Sorting Prefixes
Upper Elementary
Directions:
Discuss how some words begin with prefixes. Prefixes are groups of letters
that are placed before a word to change a word’s meaning. Today we will
be working with the prefix “dis.” When the prefix “dis” is added to a word
it means “opposite,” “against,” or “apart.” Today we are going to look at
some words that begin with the letters “dis.” Some of the words will contain
the prefix “dis,” while some will have the same spelling and pronunciation,
but not contain the prefix “dis.” It is your job to sort the words in the word
bank into the correct column.
