Inter-Belief Peace, 1
The three religions- Christianity, Judaism, and Islam- are relatively the same as they
share six core concepts within each faith. This being so, they should get along. As we see in the
world everyday they do not. They need to understand what makes them a common group and
learn from each other. They share the belief in one god, prayer, prophets, scriptures, laws and the
end time. As each differs religion to religion they are still the same concept.
The god mentioned is different for each religion. Christianity has the Holy Trinity.
Judaism has YHWH. Islam has Allah. Each god is unique to the religion. Christianity differs
from the others as it has three people as its center, but if you dig deeper into the religion you find
that each person is combined into one whole, God. Jews believe that they are the chosen people
of their god. Islam has a god that is supreme, infinite and unparallel. They are all monotheistic,
holding the belief in one god. They all agree on one more thing about their gods; they are eternal.
Allah, YHWH, and the Trinity will always be. Each religion agrees that the supreme power will
last forever. The god may be different but the concept is the same.
Each belief has its own form of prayer. In Christianity, prayer is basically an open forum
between Earth and Heaven. They can pray to God or the Saints on their behalf. The saints will
relay the massage to God. In Judaism, prayer is directed solely to YHWH. In Islam, prayer or
Salat is a compulsory thing. Every day at set time they pray towards Mecca reciting the Quran.
Prayer is individual to each faith but are all the people of the faith reaching toward god.
Each belief has its own major prophet. Christianity has Jesus. He is technically the savior
but he can also fill the spot of prophet, as he brought teachings to his church. Judaism believes
that Moses is the greatest prophet. He is the one who brought the Ten Commandments to his

people. Islam believes in all prophets from Adam to Mohammad. The Quran treats all prophets
equally. The prophets may be different but they are all representatives from god.
Each of the faiths has scriptures. Judaism has the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings.
These are known as the Jewish Bible or the Old Testament. Christianity has the Bible. It contains
the Old Testament and the New Testament. The New Testament is the writings after the time of
Christ. Islam has the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel and the Quran. The Torah holds the story of
Moses, the Psalms the story of David, the Gospel the story of Jesus, and the Quran the story of
Mohammad. These faiths’ writings seem to stack on top of each other in chronological order.
Judaism came first, and then Christianity appeared, and last but not least came Islam. Judaism
has the building blocks, the first scriptures. Christianity holds those and more of its own. And
Islam has all of the above plus the Quran.
These religions all hold laws. Christianity has the Ten Commandments, a common list of
things that should be avoided. If you look into other religions, I bet you will find that each holds
these within their scriptures. Judaism has the Torah. There are 613 commandments in the Torah
based on rabbinic tradition. Islam has Sharia and Fiqh. Sharia is the divine will and Fiqh is the
knowledge and practice of the belief. The Quran and Sunnah also hold laws. The laws of each
religion govern the way they live.
Each belief system holds some form of the end time. Christianity has the Book of
Revelations, which maps out the end time. This includes the second coming of Christ, the
resurrection of the dead and the final Judgment Day. Muslims believe that at the end of the world
the dead will be resurrected and held accountable for their life. This is known as the Day of
Judgment. Judaism has End of Days. This includes the defeat of Jewish enemies, the third temple

in Jerusalem, the revival of the dead, and the Messiah being king of Israel. Each includes a
resurrection of the dead. They hold the same concept that the world will end.
Each also has conflicts with each other. The Jewish-Islam conflict has been going on
since who knows when. Its form in today’s world is in the Palestine-Israel conflict. The countries
are fighting over the Gaza Strip. The Islam-Christian conflict today is in the form of the United
States against the Taliban and Al Qaeda. The United States says that the radical Muslims in these
groups are responsible for terrorist attacks against the country. Now the US is in Afghanistan and
Iraq fighting against them. The Jewish-Christian conflict has recently been relieved as the United
States helps Israel fight against Palestine. They have come together to fight another. That
shouldn’t be all that’s holding a friendship together because as soon as the threat is gone we will
go back to fighting the same old endless fight. The same fights have been going on between the
three since their creation.
The conflicts are large and seem to be bigger than the similarities between the religions
but everyone needs to stop fighting the same fights that have been going on for over a millennia.
The common elements between the faiths should be enough to bring together people who will
end up having to deal with each other anyway. They have enough in common that they are all
just sects in the same religion. What does it matter what you call your god if the god is still the
same. The world needs to get over this because the inter-belief peace created by this would be
enough to help create world peace.
