THE GREATNESS OF ISLAM

‫• الحمد هلل القائل ‪:‬‬
• Dear brothers, may the blessings of
Allah be upon you.
• Let us have taqwa to Allah SWT with
true taqwa. Hopefully the belief and
taqwa makes us successful in this
world and the hereafter.
• Allah says in surah al-Nisaa verse 59:
• Which means:
• O you who have believed, obey Allah
and obey the Messenger and those
in authority among you. And if you
disagree over anything, refer it to
Allah and the Messenger, if you
should believe in Allah and the Last
Day. That is the best [way] and best
in result.
• Dear brothers,
• Humans have an innate religiosity.
When he knows his Lord then
actually he has return to his original
creation, to his nature.
• Islam is a religion which maintains
the nature that Allah has instills in
all human beings.
• Islam is a religion that suits the
nature of human beings and is not
the opposite or contrary to nature.
• Because due to this nature, by
following the true religion, mankind
will find true happiness.
• On contrary, following the
misguided beliefs and wrong and
confused way of life is, his soul
would not feel peaceful and happy.
• Irregularities in Judaism and
Christians turned their religion far
from the true nature.
• If Judaism is too concerned with the
external things, then the Christian
religion too concerned with internal
matters.
• Judaism too focuses more on the
laws and seemed stiff and hard.
Christianity focuses too much on
spirituality until they created
monkhood, which is contrary to
human nature.
• The religion of the prophet
Muhammad s.a.w. is a mercy to all
mankind.
• It is not too focus with external
matters and still not too concerned
with internal matters to the extend
of inventing something that is not
prescribed.
• For example, Islam encourages its
followers to fast and pray but also
requires its followers to practice
moderation in worship, not
extravagant until he forgets the
responsibility to his wife, children
and society.
• Islam does not accept the practice
of not marrying women to devote
themselves to the worship of Allah.
• Imam Al-Shahrastani in his book AlMilal wa An-Nahl explained that the
shari’a of the Prophet Muhammad
s.a.w. is to replace laws of the
previous prophets, and abrogation
is in fact not cancel and make false
the sharia before it, but in fact to
complete the old ones.
• He explained that the teaching of
the Prophet Moses was that the
perpetrators are charged with the
law of Qisas, whereas the teachings
of Jesus stated that people who
commit crimes should be forgiven.
• So the shari’a of the Prophet
Muhammad s.a.w. came with both,
as described in Surah Al-Baqarah
verse 178 read earlier, meaning:
• “ O you who have believed,
prescribed for you is legal
retribution for those murdered - the
free for the free, the slave for the
slave, and the female for the female.
• But whoever overlooks from his
brother anything, then there should
be a suitable follow-up and payment
to him with good conduct. This is an
alleviation from your Lord and a
mercy. But whoever transgresses
after that will have a painful
punishment.”
• Dear brothers,
• There are times when evil must be
dealt accordingly, there are times
when the convicted can be forgiven
and given a second chance. Thus the
Islamic law is to secure justice and
well-being.
• With regard to the position of Islam
against the Jews and the Christians,
Allah Almighty says in Surah Ali
Imran, verse 67:
• Which means:
• Abraham was neither a Jew nor a
Christian, but he was one inclining
toward truth, a Muslim [submitting
to Allah ]. And he was not of the
polytheists.
• Generally there it is a linguists’
consensus said that al-Hanif is a
Muslim because only Muslims are
firm in their tawhid.
• The word is associated with Prophet
Ibrahim Hanif is the religion of truth
bearer, before Rasulullah s.a.w. was
sent. But after the advent of Islam,
Muslims are called al-Hanif.
• No doubt that the message brought
by the Prophet Muhammad is a
continuation and extension of the
message brought by Prophet
Ibrahim AS.
• Islam is not a new religion or a
religion that is different from the
previous prophets.
• Similarly, Islam is not one of
translation of variety of religious
beliefs, as alleged by the pluralism.
• They claim that all religion is true
and it will return to a belief in the
eternity, based on their
interpretation of the term
"Wahdatul Wujud".
• Their claim is based on superstitious
belief and wrong understanding.
• Irresponsible interpretations from
them are purely based on their
desires alone, not from the true
Islamic texts.
• If there is even a verse of the Qur'an
used, it will be interpreted
according to their taste, not to be
used for truth.
• Dear Muslims,
• The ideology of making Islam the
similar with the other religion is
something that must be rejected.
• In fact, this act can be considered
shirk to Allah, due to the diversity of
faith which believe in multiplicity of
gods, whereas the basis of Islam is
monotheistic and the Oneness of
Allah the Almighty.
• Muslims believe that throughout
the history Allah only send one
religion. All the prophets and
apostles called to the teachings
monotheism.
• The name Islam is only during the
time of the Prophet Muhammad
after it was completed by Allah.
• Therefore any religion other than
Islam is not accepted by Allah as
emphasized by Allah in Surah Ali
Imran, verse 19:
• “Indeed, the religion in the sight of
Allah is Islam. And those who were
given the Scripture did not differ
except after knowledge had come to
them - out of jealous animosity
between themselves. And whoever
disbelieves in the verses of Allah ,
then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking]
account.”
