Assessment Pacing: This unit takes about 4 weeks to complete.

1. Identify four major groups of organic molecules- carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic
acids
2. Recognize the chemical structure of each group of organic molecules
3. Describe how organisms use organic molecules to build structures and provide energy.
4. Explain how enzymes affect chemical reactions
