The champion has identified at least two opportunities for procuring more sustainable or
ethical products. Examples could include stationery, Fairtrade tea and coffee, vegetarian
lunches, printing using vegetable inks, FSC accredited wood. Where applicable, the
champion has put a case forward to the budget holder / senior management to see if this
change can be implemented.
N.B Tea and coffee usage applies to department/group bought drinks made in kitchens;
Catering Aston already supply Fairtrade tea and coffee.

Gold: The champion has contacted their most frequently used suppliers and asked about per supplier. Evidence could
the company’s environmental and ethical credentials. Examples could include:

Do they invest in renewable energy?
Do they source products locally?
What welfare / environmental standards to their products comply to e.g FSC accredited
wood, recycled content etc.
