Every Year It’s the same old
problem, isn’t it?
The pesky leprechauns are at it
again, turning your beer green
with out you asking.
Even in your dorm room,
Your precious bowl of lucky
charms…
Is not safe.
But what can I do?
Exterminators are expensive,
and often ineffective against
the wrath of the leprechaun.
Then get the New Leprechaun
trap from S R B W

It pays for itself! With the first
two captures, the Leprechaun’s
Pot of gold will more than
cover the cost of the trap, with
change to spare!
 Patent Pending; EG-2314509353
 Put the Leprechauns back
under your control!
Well how does it work?

Step 1: The
Leprechaun climbs to
the top of the box and
starts walking towards
the Lucky Charms.
Tripping the trap

Step 2: The weight of
the Leprechaun causes
the lid to rotate
downwards, making
the leprechaun to fall
into the box.
Caged In

Step 3: The axel
attached to the lid now
rotates with the lid,
causing a small pin to
be pulled, releasing a
stick.
Caged In 2

Step 4: A spring
attached to the cage,
causes it to snap shut
on top of the smaller
box.
Well, lets see it.

Gather around boys and girls!
 Watch your fingers
Energy Conversion 1

The Leprechaun
gravitational potential
energy is converted
into kinetic energy
causing the lid to
rotate.

W=MGH
 W=(.118kg)(9.81m/s)
(.12cm)
 Wout=0.1389J
Energy Conversion 2

The rotating lid/axel
assembly applies a
tension force onto the
string, causing a small
pin to be pulled a
specific distance.


Win =0.139J
W=FD
 W=(1N)(1cm)
 Wout=0.010J
Energy Conversion 3

The pin releases a stick is
supporting the cage,
keeping it from falling.
This energy conversion is
equal and opposite.

The pin release triggers a
new reaction, since no
energy is added to or
subtracted from the stick.
So an equal and opposite
reaction between the stick
and the cage occurs at this
point.
 Win=Wout
Energy Conversion 4

The stick being
released, causes the
elastic potential
energy in the spring to
change into kinetic
energy thus making
the cage come down
on top of the box.

Win=0.01J
W=1/2KX2
 W=(1/2)(92N/M)(0.26
M)2
 Wout=3.12J

Total Efficiency

Initial Win: 0.139J
 Final Wout: 3.12J
 Eff=Pout/Pin
Eff=3.12J/0.139J*100
Eff=2240% !!!
