Mercury
This is the planet closest to the sun.
The surface of the planet is dry and very hot.

This is the smallest planet and has no moons.
Venus
Second planet from the sun.
Very hot, rocky planet.
It has mountains and valleys.
Thick clouds cover the planet and trap the sun’s
energy making it very hot.
Has no moons.
Earth
Third planet from the sun.
Water covers almost threefourth of Earth’s surface.
Only planet in the solar system
that supports life.

Has many rings around the planet made of ice
and rocks.
Also has more than 60 moons.
Uranus
Seventh planet from the sun
Rotates on it’s size unlike the other planets.
27 moons.
Neptune
Farthest from the sun.
It takes 165 Earth years to orbit the sun.
It has 13 moons.
Blue color is caused by gases in its atmosphere.
