External Conflict: Montagues and Capulets are two families that do not
get along
Internal Conflict: Romeo is in love with a girl that doesn’t love him
back.
Complication(S): Prince tries to stop feud by declaring that the next
person that starts a fight will die.
Benvolio tries to help Romeo by encouraging him to look at other girls.

External Conflict: Paris wants to marry Juliet, but Lord Capulet wants to
wait.
Internal Conflict:Lord Capulet does not want to rush his only child into

Complication(s): Lord Capulet encourages Paris to try to “date” Juliet
and then he will permit the marriage.
Benvolio and Romeo will crash the Capulet party to get Romeo to think
about other chicks.
