GAME RULES GROUP ACTIVITY
MEASURABLE GOALS AND STANDARD
ALIGNMENT
• CCR: Write Informative/explanatory texts to examine and
convey complex ideas and information clearly and
accurately through the effective selection, organization,
and analysis of content.
• I can write an informative text, explaining how to play a
game by describing the game set up, the objective of the
game, and the mechanics of a game turn.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
CAREER
READINESS . . .
Some jobs will require that you
teach yourself how to do certain
tasks.
All you will be given, if you are
lucky, is a manual. Sometimes,
you will not receive a manual or
training prior to starting a
particular career based task.
PROBLEM
SOLVING SKILLS
COLLEGE
READINESS
Many things in college will
require that you learn on your
own. When you are given
something to read, you will be
expected to learn that
information and the lesson will
continue as though you have
understand that information.
GAME RULES PROJECT
• You will be grouped and assigned a game or
games to teach the class.
• Each member of the group will write a rules
summary.
• The group will present the rules to the class.
PRESENTATION
• All members will participate. This means that everyone
must speak at least once. If anyone does not want to
speak, your group has the option to create a digital
representation of the rules which will also teach the class
the game rules. The digital representation can take the
form of a video, PowerPoint, or other approved medium.
All media must be turned in one day earlier than the due
date.
