The full transposition is planned for the 2018. The first draft of the revised Strategy on Biological Diversity has been prepared The first draft of the Decree on Appropriate Assessment has been prepared Within the UNDP Project draft version of the Implementation plan for Habitats and Bird Directives is prepared and it will be further developed by Annual Implementation Plans Full Implementation several projects are ongoing: The project "Establishment of an ecological network in the Republic of Serbia” (2015-2020) assists MAEP co-financed from the budget of the Republic of Serbia activities within the Project EU IPA 2012 Objectives and results of the project are: establishing the Ecological Network of the Republic of Serbia participation in implementation of IPA 2012 project for Natura 2000 digitalized literature data of habitats and species priority habitat types and habitats of priority species mapped preliminary list of Natura 2000 sites elaborated methodology for monitoring of certain habitat types and species established Full Implementation The EU Project IPA 2012 “Capacity Building for the Implementation of 'Acquis' standards in the field of nature protection - Establishment of Natura 2000 sites including the equipment and software for Serbia (2015-2017)” foresees support for MAEP; The project "Development of the Red Book of Plants, Animals and Fungi in the Republic of Serbia" (2015-2017); The project "Development of an annual plan for the implementation of a Specific Implementation Plan for EU Birds and Habitats Directives” including deadlines, monitoring plan and financial needs (2016-2018); Project EU IPA 2016 – Natura 2000 (2018-2020)(taking into account IPA 2012 project results) (2018-2020). Full Implementation Activities related to implementation Habitats and Bird Directives include: TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission) ECRAN (Environment and Climate Regional Accession Network), ENVAP( Environment Accesion Project) financed bySwedish Environmental Protection Establishing of necessary institutional infrastructure at all levels (republic, regional, local), Professionally trained employees at all levels, Development and implementation of new projects should provide the recovery of some habitats, management plans, compensation to land owners and users, purchase of sites and maintenance of areas etc. Improving conservation measures of Annex II bird species and Annex V species of the Habitats Directive in collaboration with hunting and fishing sectors Agency ) Towards Identification Natura 2000 Results of the projects: Twining Project SR 2007/IB/E 02 “Strengthening administrative capacity for Natura 2000, ЕУ CARDS Project for South-Eastern Europe“ Setting - up Emerald Network” – 2005-2008 (ASCIs) within the Bern Convention and EU habitats and Bird Directives (Natura 2000 software used , 69 habitat types and 143 species from Annexes I and II have been identified ) Inventory of wetlands in Serbia Pilot Project – Mapping of forest habitat types in Vojvodina fo Natura 2000 IGIS Project-Infoterra Geo-Information Solution Important Bird Areas – Bird Life International Criteria used Setting up an Ecological Network in Serbia focus on conserving biodiversity setting up a National Ecological Network and Natura 2000 Network an emphasis on maintaining and strengthening ecological coherence, primarily through providing for ecological functionality and interconnectivity among all Ecological Important Areas ensuring that critical areas are buffered from the effects of potentially damaging external activities restoring where appropriate degraded ecosystems and habitat types and habitat of species providing complementarities between land uses and biodiversity objectives, and particularly by exploiting the potential biodiversity value of associated semi-natural landscapes.
