 Choose 2 or more activities from different boxes to complete at home. It must be turned in with
your homework.
Across and Down
Write each word across and
down, sharing the beginning
letter.

Challenge: Make a
crossword puzzle.
Word Sort
Sort the spelling words into
groups. Label the groups.
You may sort the words into
groups based on the number
of syllables in each, parts of
speech, spelling patterns, or
other groups of your choice.
Trace a Shape
Draw a shape for each
spelling word. Then write
your spelling words around
each shape.
OR
Write each spelling word
then trace around each word
in color. Close your eyes and
try to remember the shape.
Type to Learn
Type all of your spelling
words using a computer.
Remember to use home row
position and finger reaches.
Print the list to turn in.
Challenge: make all of the
vowels one color and all of
the consonants another color.
Rhyming Words
ABC Order
Write each spelling word.
Then come up with a
rhyming word for each one.
Write spelling words in
alphabetical order.
Colorful Words
Write each letter of your
spelling words using a
different colored pencil.

using one color for vowels
and another color for
consonants.
Consonant Circle
Write each of your spelling
words. Then go back and
circle all of the consonants.
