Crawford Bundy 5B2 Ancient Egyptian Pyramids Ancient Egyptian pyramids are the most well know pyramid structures and over 130 pyramids have been built. The first pyramid was built in 2460 BCE, that was 4650 years ago! The first pyramid was built in Saqqara, it was called the pyramid of Djoser. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis. For over 3800 years, the Great Pyramid of Giza was the tallest man made structure in the world. On average the blocks to built the pyramids weighed 2.5 tons. As well as Giza and Saqqara, important Egyptian Pyramid sites include Dashur, Abusir, Meidum, Lisht, Abu Rawash and others. Nearly all Egyptian Pyramids are located on the west bank of the Nile river. Egyptian pyramids show that Ancient Egypt was an advanced civilization because of Technology, arts, and religion. Ancient Egypt had an advanced civilization because of religion, tombs, priest, and afterlife. Tombs showed that ancient Egypt had an advanced civilization. When humans went dead they were buried in a wooden box and only the heart was left, also the mummies were buried with jewelry, gold, clothes, statues, mirrors, games, furniture, food. Priest showed that ancient Egypt had an advanced civilization. The highest priest advised the pharaoh and oversaw all religious ceremonies, also during burial practices they used a method called embalming to preserve bodies from decay. Afterlife showed that ancient Egypt had an advanced civilization. Egyptians believed in a life after death, they thought that in afterlife a person’s body remained with his or her dead spirit. Tombs, priest, and afterlife showed that Egypt was an advanced civilization. Ancient Egypt had an advanced civilization because of art. Military art showed that ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Military art was important because when people built walls it protected the town and everything around it. Architect showed that ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Architect is important to Egypt because most ancient Egyptian art that has survived to this present day has come from tombs, and temples, also many paintings were made to accompany the dead into the afterlife. Scribes show that Ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Scribes existed because officials wanted them to record information such as dates, names, important events, and calculations of tax. Military art, architect, and scribes showed that Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization because of technology. Pyramid tools showed that ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. There were about 16 tools used for pyramids and it all helped make the ancient Egyptian pyramids. Pyramid crews showed that ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. There were six pyramid crews, they were stone cutters, surveys, masons, foremans, mortar makers, carpenters, and they would work all year long either in quarries or on site. The change of preserving the dead showed that ancient Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Egyptians were experts at preserving the dead as mummies, in the 1990’s special scanners were used to see inside the mummies without causing damage. Pyramid tools, pyramid crews, and the change of preserving the dead showed that Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Technology, arts, and religion do show that ancient Egypt had a complex civilization. Ancient Egypt had seven traits and these three traits help prove that Egyptian pyramids had an advanced civilization. Without these three traits ancient Egypt would not be an advanced civilization. These three traits can still be used on this to make a complex civilization. Technology, arts, and religion will and can be used forever to make an advanced civilization. The pyramids helped these three traits succeed in making a complex civilization. Last the pyramids will be a great resource to geologist and other people on finding out the world in it’s past.
