New Mexico was the scene of a UFO sighting in 1964. A
police officer, Ronnie Sanchez, was pursuing a speeding
motorist near Socorro. There was a sudden roar and the
officer saw a bluish flame in the sky ahead. At first he didnt
know whether to pursue the driver or investigate the flame.
He decided to investigate the flame, drove to where it had
appeared and found an oval, silver object on the ground. It
had four feet and a red sign on its side. A small, human-like
figure appeared. Its garments were white, and it moved
quickly around the object. The police officer wasnt sure what
to do. He approached it and offered to help. As soon as it
saw him, it seemed alarmed and jumped back into its
mysterious object. The object rose quickly over Sanchezs
car, and with a brilliant blue flash and a huge roar it was
gone.
This UFO sighting was later investigated. On the landing site
four wedge-shaped prints that could have been made by the
UFOs feet were found. Footprints and patches of burning
shrub were also found there. The wedge-shaped prints were
never explained.
