Miss Schweikert’s Shining Stars October 18-22 DARYN IS THE STAR STUDENT THIS WEEK! We have finished our Ancient Egyptian unit and we have moved on to the study of the human body systems and functions. Do you know how many bones your skeleton is made up of? Ask your child to find out the answer! Did you know that there are 64 bones just in your two hands and arms? Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place this entire week, before and after school. Please wait outside and I’ll open the door when I’m ready for the next conference. Remember, each conference will be 15 minutes so please be on time so we can keep the schedule moving along. Spelling Homework Options Please CIRCLE the options you picked this week (You will need to provide your own paper for these assignments and make sure you put them in your homework bag.) 1. Write all your words 2 times each. (You can be creative about how you do this!) 2. Pick 10 words and write them in alphabetical order. 3. Pick 10 words to write and put the vowels in red marker or crayon. 4. Pick 10 words to write and put the consonants in blue marker or crayon. 5. Pick 10 words and paint them on a piece of paper. 6. Pick 5 words and write the word and draw a picture to show what it means 7. Type all your words (You can be creative about how you do this!) 8. Rainbow words: Pick 10 words and write the words in different colors 9. Write a note to me (or anyone) and use all of your word wall words in the note. 10.
