Hanapepe Heights & Cliffside Parks Project. Co-Chair and Project Manager. Secured over $90,000 in grant funding including federal matching funds. Obtained permits, solicited in-kind donations, recruited volunteers, provided interviews for radio, newspaper, and television reports on projects. Managed and documented volunteer built construction projects. Hanapepe Town Tree-Planting Project. Worked with business owners, land owners, and residents of Hanapepe Town to evaluate community beautification projects and to secure a state Kaulunani Urban Forestry Grant for tree planting. Actively participated in tree planting and maintenance. TreePeople/Caltrans Adopt-A-Highway. Project Manager: Organized and managed 6 major volunteer freeway tree- planting projects and provided follow-up care for 5 years. Planted over 400 trees on freeway rights-of-way, involved more than 200 volunteers. Year 2000 Caltrans Regional Volunteer of the Year. Los Angeles County-Wide Citizens' Planning Council.
