Spelling Activities
Choose one activity from one of the 4 boxes to complete each night. Put the
number of the box on the top of the activity completed.
All are due on Friday.
1

Write your words in ABC order.
Write each word and circle the vowels (a, e, i, o, u).
Write each word and circle the consonants.
Write the words and a synonym (similar word) for each word.
Write the words and an antonym (opposite word) for each word.

Draw a picture and “hide” all the words in the picture.
Make a comic strip using eight of your words.
Write all your words in a color pattern.
Write your words two times each.

Write all your words in cursive.
Write the definitions of 5 of your spelling words.
Write a story using eight of your words.
Write ten good 3rd grade sentences using your words.



Write two words that rhyme with each spelling word.
Write a letter to your teacher using eight of your words.
Cut out letters from newspapers, magazines or make different kinds on the
computer to make up your spelling words.
Choose eight of your spelling words and write a tongue twister sentence using
each of them in a sentence. (All words will start with the same letter. Example:
Pink pigs play the piano.) Underline the spelling word.
