Manufacturer shall provide any additional information or factory demonstrations as required by Specifier to demonstrate conformance with Part 2 of this specification. All demonstrations are to be at a location, time and in a manner chosen by the Specifier. 1.05 APPROVALS A. Prior approval is required for alternate proposals. B. Complete Catalog data, specifications, and technical information on alternate equipment must be furnished to the Architect and Owner at least ten business days in advance of the bid date. 1.06 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer shall have a minimum of 10 years continuous experience in the manufacturing of lighting controls. B. 120V-60Hz Motorized Window Treatment Control System shall be UL and CSA listed (where appropriate) specifically for the required loads (120V-60Hz motor). Manufacturer shall provide evidence of compliance on request. C. Manufacturer shall have their quality system registered to the ISO 9001 Quality Standard, including in-house engineering for all product design activities. Due to the exclusion of the Design Control element, ISO 9002 Registration is not acceptable. D. Manufacturer shall have component quality program in place to reduce defective levels to less than 100 PPM and provide documentation on request. E. Group Controller shall meet IEC801-2, tested to withstand a 15kV electrostatic discharge without damage or loss of memory. F. Manufacturer shall provide software to simplify the design and installation of all lighting controls. G. Manufacturer shall be Year 2000 compliant for both their corporate operating systems and lighting control products. 1.07 PROJECT/SITE CONDITIONS A. Motorized Window Treatment controls shall operate in an ambient temperature range of 0°C (32°F) to 40°C (104°F) and 90% non-condensing relative humidity. B. Existing Conditions 1.08 WARRANTY The manufacturer shall provide a one-year limited warranty on all equipment supplied. The warranty shall cover 100% of the cost to repair any or replace any parts required over the first year, which are directly attributable to the manufacturer. Warranty coverage shall begin three months from date of delivery. 1.09 MAINTENANCE The manufacturer shall make available to the end user a method of ordering new equipment for expansions, replacement, or parts to be used as spares twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The manufacturer must make available new or remanufactured parts for a minimum period of ten years from the final date of commissioning. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS 1. LUTRON 2. The listing of a manufacturer as "acceptable" does not imply automatic approval. It is the sole responsibility of the electrical contractor to ensure that any price quotations received and submittals made are for products/systems that meet or exceed the specifications included herein. 2.02 AC MOTOR GROUP CONTROLLER A. GENERAL 1. The Group Controller shall provide open, close, and stop operation of up to four ac motorized window treatments. 2. The Group Controller shall be capable of being controlled via dry contact closure inputs. 3. The Group Controller shall be capable of receiving either momentary or maintained dry contact closure inputs. This function shall be configurable by a switch. 4. The Group Controller shall be capable of individual zone control and/or master control from the contact closure inputs. 5. Stopping the motor shall be accomplished either by providing a dry contact closure to the “Stop” terminal or by applying contact closures to the “Open” and “Close” terminals simultaneously. 6. The Group Controller shall provide means for reversing motor direction for a given input in the event of a miswire without removing power from the unit. The motor direction shall be configurable by a switch. 7. The Group Controller shall provide local override buttons that activate the window treatments for wiring verification. 8. The Group Controller shall provide LED indication as to the last state of the window treatment. B. MECHANICAL 1. The Group Controller shall be housed in a metal enclosure capable of being surface mounted in any orientation. 2. The enclosure shall have separate, isolated wiring compartments for line voltage wiring and Class 2 wiring. 3. The Group Controller shall provide individual terminals for each neutral for mains input and each motor. 4. The Group Controller shall provide a grounding bar to land each ground of mains input and each motor. 5. The Group Controller shall provide keyed mounting features so that mounting screws do not need to be removed. C. ELECTRICAL 1. The Group Controller shall operate at 110 to 127 VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
