The first week of school went really well. By the middle of the week, the
kids and I were already exhausted. The kids are getting more comfortable
with their new classroom and making new friendships. They are learning our
classroom expectations and daily routine nicely. We are definitely off to a
good start!
Every Monday I will be giving a spelling pre-test. If your child gets 100% on
all of the spelling words and word wall words, then he/she will NOT need to
take the test on Friday!  This Friday, we will have our very first spelling
test. There will be 10 words on the test. Five of the words will be from
the spelling list and the other five will be the word wall words. Your child
will only have spelling homework this week. Next week, I will start our
regular homework routine which will usually include a math or writing
activity.
Reminders: Homework bags go home on Monday and are due on
FRIDAY. Please don’t turn your h.w. bag in early unless you know you
are going to be absent on Friday.

2. Pick 10 words and write them in alphabetical order.
3. Pick 10 words to write and put the vowels in red marker or crayon.

12.Pick at least 5 words (or challenge yourself and pick more than 5) and write
your words in a poem, a song, or a short story.
