Determine patterns of inheritance and potential variation among offspring.
Know that asexual reproduction produces offspring identical to the parent.
Understand how Sexual reproduction produces offspring that have genetic information from two
parents.
Explain why offspring that result from sexual reproduction (fertilization and meiosis) have
greater variation than offspring that result from asexual reproduction (budding and mitosis).
Determine how characteristics of living things passed on to future generations.
Infer patterns of heredity using information from Punnett squares and pedigree analysis.
Predict the probability of genetic traits using a Punnett square.
Trace a genetic trait within a family using a pedigree.
Predict patterns of heredity.
Know some common inherited genetic diseases and how they are inherited.
