Uranus Mars Pluto Neptune Jupiter Venus Saturn Mercury Sun Earth The solar system is the sun and the objects that orbit around it. Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Mercury’s surface is hot enough to melt steel. Venus is the second planet to the Sun. It rotates backward compared to most of the other planets. Earth is the third planet to the Sun. Earth is the only planet known to Support life. This is where we live. Mars is the fourth planet to the Sun. Mars is very hot because it has the largest volcano. Jupiter is the fifth planet to the Sun. Jupiter has a big red spot. It is the largest planet in the Solar System. Saturn is the sixth planet to the Sun. Saturn is the second largest planet after Jupiter. It has the largest rings in The Solar System. Uranus is the seventh planet to the Sun. Uranus has 5 large moons and at least 10 small ones. It rotates on its sides and has rings. Neptune is the eighth planet to the Sun. It is the farthest to the sun for 20-years period when Pluto crosses its orbit. Pluto is the ninth planet to the Sun.
