Biography
• Sabin Pautza was born on 8 February 1943, at
Calnic-Resita
• He gratuated in 1965 the “Ciprian Porumbescu”
Conservatory in Bucharest, Romania
• He specialized as composer and bandmaster at
The Chigian Academy in Siena, Italy
• Between 1966 and 1984 he activated as
harmony profesor at
“George Enescu”
Conservatory of Iasi, Romania
• In 1984, Sabin Pautza was named the artistic
director and principal bandmaster of the oldest
orchestra from New Jersey, "Plainfield
Symphony", which he guided for 20 years
• In 1984 he moved in United States of America at
Plainfield, New Jersey
• The Plainfield’s mayor named 7 May “The Sabin
Pautza Day”
• Nowadays, he is the honorific director of the
Plainfield Philharmonic
• Sabin Pautza has a lot of concerts in the
biggest concert halls of Europe, SUA and
Australia ("Carnegie Hall“ of New York, "Santa
Cecilia“ of Rome and "Philharmonic Hall" of
Sydney)
• He is invited to teach craftsmanship lessons
to different Universities of the world
• He has the following titles:
 Doctor in Music given by “London Institute for
Applied Research”
 Summa Cum Laudae Doctor given by The Music
Academy “Gheorghe Dima” in Cluj, Romania

• In Resita, Romania the Art High School’s name
is Sabin Pautza
• At musician is collaborating

• He is in his 18th season as Music
Director/Conductor of the Plainfield Symphony.
• His compositions are published by “San
Nicobian” Publishing on New York, and “Swift
Music Group” is editing nowadays “Seria
Omnia”. On market just appeard the first 10
CD’s of this creation of Pautza.
• His composition "Rita Dove Triptych" had its
world premiere with the Plainfield Symphony
Orchestra in November, 1994. His "Jubilee
Sinfonietta", which was dedicated to the PSO,
premiered in 1995. In November 1997, the
Plainfield Symphony performed his "Saxophone
Concerto" with Paul Cohen, who commissioned
the work, as soloist.
• In May, 2000, Maestro Pautza's cantata "Ode to
Hope" was given its world premiere by the
Plainfield Symphony and the Crescent Choral
Society
• In June 2007 he was invited by German Consulate
to perform at the Sibiu, Capital Cultural of Europe
