Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach (31 March 1685 – 28 July 1750) was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, violist, and violinist of the
Baroque period. The Well-Tempered Clavier, Books 1 and 2 (BWV 846–893) are among Bach’s keyboard works. Each book consists
of a prelude and fugue in each of the 24 major and minor keys in chromatic order from C major to B minor. "Well-tempered" in the
title refers to the temperament or system of tuning. Many temperaments before Bach's time were not flexible enough to allow
compositions to utilize more than just a few keys.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791), baptized as Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus
Mozart, was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. The Piano Sonata No. 16 in C major, K. 545, by Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart was described by Mozart himself in his own thematic catalogue as "for beginners," and it is sometimes known by the
nickname Sonata facile or Sonata semplice.
Mozart added the work to his catalogue on June 26, 1788, the same date as his Symphony No. 39. The exact circumstances of the
work's composition are not known, however. Although the piece is well-known today, it was not published in Mozart's lifetime and
first appeared in print in 1805.

Frédéric François Chopin (1 March or 22 February 1810[1] – 17 October 1849), born (and known in Poland as) Fryderyk Franciszek
Chopin,[2] was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist. He is widely considered one of the greatest Romantic piano composers.
Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu in C-sharp minor, Op. posthumous 66, is a solo piano composition. It was composed in 1834
and dedicated to Julian Fontana, who published the piece in spite of Chopin's request not to do so.

Achille-Claude Debussy
Achille-Claude Debussy (22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. Along with Maurice Ravel, he was one of the
most prominent figures associated with Impressionist music, though he himself intensely disliked the term when applied to his
compositions. In France, he was made Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 1903.[4] A crucial figure in the transition to the modern
era in Western music, he remains one of the most famous and influential of all composers. The Two Arabesques (Deux arabesques), L.
66, is a pair of arabesques composed for piano by Claude Debussy. They are two of Debussy's earliest works, composed between the
years 1888 and 1891, when he was still in his twenties.

Donald Patriquin
Donald Patriquin (born October 21, 1938 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada) is a composer, organist, and choral conductor. Known
internationally for choral and instrumental arrangements of folk music, Patriquin was a member of the Faculty of Music of McGill
University from 1965 to 1996. He currently resides in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
