The Continuous Form The past continuous was /were+ present participle. e.g He, she, it drinking they were drinking. The future continuous shall, /will be +present participle. e.g I shall/will be working be staying. The present perfect continuous; Have/has been +present participle. e.g I have been playing. He has been skiing. The past perfect continuous had been +present participle. e.g I had been speaking He had been watching. The future perfect continuous will have been +present participle. e.g I shall/will have been reading. He will have been painting.
