Overall Goal Soil and water conservation will be improved through forest management activities of the villagers in the three target municipalities (San Jose de Achuapa, El Sauce and Santa Rosa del Peñon). Project Purpose Sustainable forest management activities*1 by participants will be promoted in the target communities in the three target municipalities. Outputs 1. Forest management plans for disaster prevention will be formulated in the target communities. The forest area in the three municipalities increase by ○% as a result of the project. 1 2 More than ○% of villagers supported by the project carry out the forest management activities continuously. The agreements between INAFOR and municipalities are concluded, implemented, and continue. *1: The word “Forest management activities “ refers to the activities concerning natural forest management, afforestation, soil conservation, agroforestry, livelihood improvement and so on, which are referred in “The Master Plan on Forest Management for Disaster Prevention in the Northern Pacific Region in the Republic of Nicaragua”.
