... report showed that the deletion of 3⬘-UTR sequences of ␤2adrenergic receptor resulted in a 2- to 2.5-fold increase in receptor expression and a shift of mRNA distribution toward the polysomal fraction, thereby favoring increased translation (Subramaniam et al., 2004). Despite an enormous effort focu ...

... The lifetime of a mouse in the lab can be up to about two and a half years. In previous studies, it was found that mice do not develop any pathological symptoms until at least the age of 6 months (Pujol et al., 2002). In light of these facts, any experiments conducted on the lab mice should be done ...

Control of Growth and of the Nuclear Division Cycle in Neurospora

... and yeast cells as a function of the growth rate (A, per minute). For Neurospora as well as for E. coli there is a direct proportionality between the rate of growth and the ribosomal content so that a doubling in growth rate corresponds to a doubling in the number of ribosomes. As observed by Maal0e ...

... NO. This phage contains an amber mutation in a gene required for phage DNA replication, the first step of the lytic life cycle. Since the bacterial strain does not contain an amber suppressor tRNA, no phage replication--and thus no cell lysis—will occur during the infection. b) Predict whether all, ...

NEDD9

Neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down-regulated protein 9 (NEDD-9) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NEDD9 gene. NEDD-9 is also known as enhancer of filamentation 1 (EF1), CRK-associated substrate-related protein (CAS-L), and Cas scaffolding protein family member 2 (CASS2). An important paralog of this gene is BCAR1.
