Variable Geometric Phase Polarization Rotators for the Visible
Variable Geometric Phase Polarization Rotators for the Visible

... An alternative to using linear polarizationpreserving reflectors is to use a system of reflections where each of the components of the light relative to the optical system experience the same number of sand p-polarization reflections, and thus acquiring a reflection phase shift difference of zero af ...

... equations of propagation of the pump and THz fields. Simulations were performed based on one-dimensional propagation equations using parameters of a ZnTe crystal pumped by 800 nm femtosecond optical pulses. The purpose of this paper is twofold. One is to study the features of the behaviors of the op ...

... SDSS images and calibrated, smoothed HI spectra of the 12 fully reduced detections. The size of each SDSS image is 1.5' (the size of the Arecibo beam at 1.2 GHz is ~4'). The red line in each spectrum indicates the frequency corresponding to z from the SDSS. The panel under each spectrum shows the pe ...

... Fig.6. The conductivity (a), and dielectric function (b) of SrTMO3 (TM = Rh, Ti, Mo, Zr). Fig. 6(a) illustrates the conductivity spectra of SrTMO3 (TM = Rh, Ti, Mo, Zr) metal oxides as a function of photon energy up to 80 eV for the polarization vector [100]. According to the plot the photoconductiv ...

... A good understanding of the propagation of rays makes possible to trace their trajectory when they are passing through various optical media. One finds that the passage through these optical elements can be described by simply 2x2 matrices. This section also describes the propagation of Gaussian bea ...

In the case of a measurement at near-normal incidence, the angle of incidence on mirror M2 must be as small as possible but lar ...

time-dependent density functional theoretical - Prof. Shih

... In recent years, the density-functional theory (DFT) has become a widely used formalism for electron structure calculations of atoms, molecules, and solids [1–5]. The DFT is based on the earlier fundamental work of Hohenberg and Kohn [6] and Kohn and Sham [7]. In the Kohn-Sham DFT formalism [7], the ...

... Almost all the astrophysical information we can derive about distant sources results from the radiation that reaches us from them. Our starting point is, therefore, a review of the principal ways of describing radiation. (In principle, this could include polarization properties, but we neglect that ...

COMPLEXES WITH BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE LIGANDS

... From the above values, it can be concluded that in mononuclear complexes, 3 probably acts usually as mono- or bidentate ligand via the oxygen and nitrogen atoms of each oxine moiety, but tri- or tetradentate behaviours should not be ruled out, since the chlorine or phosphazene nitrogen atoms could a ...

Magnetic circular dichroism

Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) is the differential absorption of left and right circularly polarized (LCP and RCP) light, induced in a sample by a strong magnetic field oriented parallel to the direction of light propagation. MCD measurements can detect transitions which are too weak to be seen in conventional optical absorption spectra; they can also probe paramagnetic properties and the symmetry of the electronic levels of the studied systems, such as metal ion sites.
