... and Efros 1982) and independently the Murray Hill group in the United States (Rossetti et al. 1983) were the first to outline the size-dependent properties of nanocrystals due to the quantum confinement effect. Since then, great progress in thefieldhas been achieved due to extensive studies performe ...

In the present study, we are interested especially in the effects of the simultaneous irradiation on harmonic photoemission and ionization. The ...

... Constructiy e interference occurs when the two waves are in phase, and a bright fringe or maximum in the intensity pattern results. This corresponds to a phase difference of an integral number of 2π ’s or an OPD that is a multiple of the wavelength. A dark fringe or minimum in the intensity pattern ...

Magnetic circular dichroism

Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) is the differential absorption of left and right circularly polarized (LCP and RCP) light, induced in a sample by a strong magnetic field oriented parallel to the direction of light propagation. MCD measurements can detect transitions which are too weak to be seen in conventional optical absorption spectra; they can also probe paramagnetic properties and the symmetry of the electronic levels of the studied systems, such as metal ion sites.
