Level-Shifting MOSFET Driver
Level-Shifting MOSFET Driver

... Referring to Figure 1, the operation of the level-shifting MOSFET driver will be analyzed. The UC2524 output wire-ORed BJTs (Q1) are operated at an ideal 300 kHz switching frequency. Q1 is placed into cutoff and saturation at the switching frequency to produce the PWM signal. A resistive divider imp ...

... To improve the input VSWR, replace the 100 ohm inductive resistor R1 with a 200 ohm resistor. Mount it near the cathodes which will also improve the VSWR. I used two 100 ohm, 3W MOF resistors from Matsushita in series (Matsushita ERG3SJ101). Also the long cathode connection to the RF choke RFC-4, an ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
