... Comparing the installation costs of the MVCF to a conventional MV Circuit Breaker will clarify the huge difference in site-work, logistics of equipment removal and replacement, liability of sub-contractors, overall man-hours and total downtime. The installed cost of the MVCF can be as little as 20% ...

... voltage envelope is 100 Hz. Because it is carried out the amplitude modulation of 50 Hz voltage, the spectrum of the signal contains frequencies of 150 Hz. Taking some reserve, we can say that the spectrum of the voltage distortion, characterized by dip and swell, does not exceed 300 - 400 Hz. ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
