... subranging and overranging manner. While [9] is one of the few publications to demonstrate a fully integrated experimental prototype, several sources of error such as charge-injection, current source mismatches, and comparator delay render its design to be inefficient. Consequently, none of these ne ...
Introduction to Filters
Introduction to Filters

... Historically, the first filters used extensively were in sound systems such as audio amplifiers, radios, and telephones. For this reason many of the conventions used in describing filters are based on the properties of human hearing. The first of these properties is that human hearing is logarithmic ...

... circuit model of the REF200 is shown in Figure 6. If reverse voltage is limited to less than 6 V or reverse current is limited to less than 350 µA, then no protection circuitry is required. A parallel diode (see (a) in Figure 17) protects the device by limiting the reverse voltage across the current ...

Design of High-Performance Balanced Audio
Design of High-Performance Balanced Audio

... Chatsworth, CA 91311 High signal-to-noise ratio is an important goal for most audio systems. However, ac power connections unavoidably create ground voltage differences, magnetic fields, and electric fields. Balanced interfaces, in theory, are totally immune to such interference. For 50 years, virtu ...

Opto-isolator

In electronics, an opto-isolator, also called an optocoupler, photocoupler, or optical isolator, is a component that transfers electrical signals between two isolated circuits by using light. Opto-isolators prevent high voltages from affecting the system receiving the signal. Commercially available opto-isolators withstand input-to-output voltages up to 10 kV and voltage transients with speeds up to 10 kV/μs.A common type of opto-isolator consists of an LED and a phototransistor in the same opaque package. Other types of source-sensor combinations include LED-photodiode, LED-LASCR, and lamp-photoresistor pairs. Usually opto-isolators transfer digital (on-off) signals, but some techniques allow them to be used with analog signals.
