Spectral characteristics of randomly switched PWM DC/DC
Spectral characteristics of randomly switched PWM DC/DC

... PWM dc/dc converters operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is presented. Under DCM, the energy stored in the inductor is completely transferred to the output load in every switching cycle. This feature inherently improves the converter stability and offers the advantage of stable closed-l ...

... The diagram clearly shows that one of lambda-transistors is not conducted in any of state of the repeater and does not allow running a current from a power supply source. Let's see how it work in detail. Suppose input voltage equals 0V ( '0' logic level ). The lower lambda-transistor is in conductin ...

... typical of linear and PWM amplifiers of the same rated power. The power efficiency of the solution is an intermediate value between the linear and PWM amplifiers, whereas SNR mainly depends on the modulator type adopted. A SNR around 60– 70 dB was estimated by adopting a fourthorder modulator. Howev ...

... In its most basic form, an Inductor is simply a coil of wire. For most coils the current, ( i ) flowing through the coil produces a magnetic flux, ( NΦ ) that is proportional to this flow of electrical current. When electrons flow through a conductor a magnetic flux is developed around the conductor ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
