... In a hydrostatic fluid, the only surface force acting in the medium is pressure. The resultant stress field and stress tensor are isotropic since the force acts equally in all directions. Quantitatively, the requirement of isotropy means that the components of the tensor do not change when the coord ...

Hierarchical Bases on the Standard and Dual Graph for

... Hierarchical basis preconditioners have been developed and employed to cure the low-frequency and the dense-discretization breakdown of the electric field integral equation (EFIE) operator. While the low-frequency breakdown is a simple matter of ill-scaling between the vector and scalar potential (a ...

... Dot (Scalar) Product of vectors  Dot product of two vectors a = a1i + a2j + a3k and b = b1i + b2j + b3k is defined as a.b = a1b1 + a2b2 + a3b3.  Dot Product of two vectors is a scalar.  If θ is the angle between a and b, we can write a.b = |a||b|cosθ  Hence a.b = 0 implies two vectors are ortho ...

Jordan-Wigner Transform: Simulation of Fermionic Creation and

... This could be an efficient implementation of fermionic operators in a quantum computer. However, in this "normal" computer, these calculations are very slow. If you need faster calculations with these operators, and you do not care about their possible implementation in a quantum computer, these doc ...

Tensor operator

""Spherical tensor operator"" redirects here. For the closely related concept see spherical basis.In pure and applied mathematics, particularly quantum mechanics and computer graphics and applications therefrom, a tensor operator generalizes the notion of operators which are scalars and vectors. A special class of these are spherical tensor operators which apply the notion of the spherical basis and spherical harmonics. The spherical basis closely relates to the description of angular momentum in quantum mechanics and spherical harmonic functions. The coordinate-free generalization of a tensor operator is known as a representation operator
