Histogram statistics for image enhancement Let r denote a discrete
Histogram statistics for image enhancement Let r denote a discrete

... The mechanics of spatial filtering:Spatial filter consists of (1) a neighbourhood, (2) a predefined operation that is performed on the image pixels encompassed by the neighbourhood. Linear and non-linear filtersAt any point (x, y) is the image, the response g(x, y) of the filter is the sum of produc ...

... A low-pass filter is a filter that passes signals with a frequency lower than a certain cut-off frequency and preventing the passage of signals with frequencies higher than the cut-off frequency [1]. The most important feature of a low pass filter is that the cut-off frequency and gain of the filter ...

... A low-pass filter has a constant gain (=Vout/Vin) from 0 Hz to a high cut off frequency fH. This cut off frequency is defined as the frequency where the voltage gain is reduced to 0.707, that is at fH the gain is down by 3 dB; after that (f > fH) it decreases as f increases. The frequencies between ...

... “It was finally agreed not to change the existing ringing voltage requirement in the draft 4 standard (i.e. 40 Vrms “shall” and 55 Vrms “should”) but to add requirement that ringing should be superimposed on minimum 15 Vdc.” Accordingly, the new draft, TR41.1.1/05-08-005-R1, states: ...

Ringing artifacts

In signal processing, particularly digital image processing, ringing artifacts are artifacts that appear as spurious signals near sharp transitions in a signal. Visually, they appear as bands or ""ghosts"" near edges; audibly, they appear as ""echos"" near transients, particularly sounds from percussion instruments; most noticeable are the pre-echos. The term ""ringing"" is because the output signal oscillates at a fading rate around a sharp transition in the input, similar to a bell after being struck. As with other artifacts, their minimization is a criterion in filter design.
