Improving passive filter compensation performance with active

... better hybrid filter compensation is obtained for larger values of voltage harmonic components generated by the active power filter. However, Fig. 5 shows that no significant improvement is obtained for greater than 15. Figs. 4 and 5 illustrate that the tuned frequency and quality factor of the pass ...

Phase-Locked Loops for Grid-Tied Inverters
Phase-Locked Loops for Grid-Tied Inverters

... When the PLL is locked to the input signal, θ’=θ, and thus e=0, which indicates no oscillatory term will be present once the PLL is synchronized with the input signal and reaches steady state. An alternative method uses adaptive filtering structures. Two examples are shown in Figure 1: the second or ...

Ringing artifacts

In signal processing, particularly digital image processing, ringing artifacts are artifacts that appear as spurious signals near sharp transitions in a signal. Visually, they appear as bands or ""ghosts"" near edges; audibly, they appear as ""echos"" near transients, particularly sounds from percussion instruments; most noticeable are the pre-echos. The term ""ringing"" is because the output signal oscillates at a fading rate around a sharp transition in the input, similar to a bell after being struck. As with other artifacts, their minimization is a criterion in filter design.
