Migrated- To move from one place to another
Archaeologists- People who dig up artifacts like
tools, pottery, and other things made by humans
Anthropologists- People who use artifacts and
remains of ancient humans to learn about culture,
or the way people lived
Artifacts- A handmade object, like a tool, or the
remains of that object, that is characteristic of an
earlier time or culture and is usually found by an
archaeologist
Paleolithic Age-The earliest period of human
history; also called the Old Stone Age
Nomadic- Humans who roam from place to place
in search of food and shelter
Neolithic Age- Sometimes called the New Stone
Age; people were no longer nomads; they settled
in small farming villages where they farmed and
raised animals for food
Civilizations- Complex cultures in which groups of
many people share the same characteristics
