David Ford is Region Manager with Southern California Edison, an Edison International
company and one of the nation's largest investor-owned electric utilities.
With more than 15 years experience in the utility industry, his current position in the
Local Public Affairs, he oversees its operational departments and its customers before
local, regional, state and federal governments in the San Gabriel Valley. David is also
Co-Founder of SCE’s Black History Month celebration “ Connecting the Evolution of
Electricity to Black History”
He received a national award from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2002
for his work in the area of energy efficiency and in 2005 was awarded from FAME
Renaissance the “ Environmental Protection Service Award. Also in 2007, Dave received
a Corporate Award from the NAACP.
David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio
University. He also attended the John E. Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
Since moving to California from Kentucky 10 years ago, David has been active in the
community. His board affiliations include such organizations as the American Red Cross,
Cal State Fullerton Advisory Board, American Association of Black in Energy, West
Hills Neighborhood Council and the California African American Museum.
David enjoys hiking, golf, camping and basketball. He resides with his wife and one
child in the city of West Hills.
