SUMMARY
Responsible for providing general accounting and administrative support assistance as directed, including
posting daily accounting activities such as A/P, A/R, cash receipts, recurring journal entries and other
related accounting functions into San Diego Theatres’ accounting system. This position will also will be
responsible for assisting with month-end close activities, filing, copying, sorting and other administrative
tasks. Payroll processing support will also be required on an as needed basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Assist Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant with various accounting transaction posting and
reporting. Specific areas to include preparing and recording daily accounts payable, cash receipts,
inventory control, and accounts receivable; as well as assisting with the preparation of various monthly
and year end close-out activities, including, but not limited to, bank reconciliations, account
reconciliations, physical inventory counts and 1099 maintenance/preparation.
As needed, provides support for the processing, reconciliation and transmission of the bi-weekly payroll
to a third party processor, ensuring that compensation is calculated in accordance with established rates,
policies, and labor agreements.
As directed, assist with information requests from external auditors and government agencies.
Reports to Accounting Manager any potential and/or pending issues, concerns, vulnerabilities, or other
matters which may impact San Diego Theatres in a timely fashion.
Provides additional financial, administrative or support services as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises no staff at this time but responsibilities may include the provision of recordkeeping and other administrative support to department managers in their supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Ideal candidates will possess three (3) years of increasingly responsible accounting and payroll positions;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, must have experience with
“Quickbooks” accounting software or a similar application processing accounts payable, cash receipts and
general journal entries. Experience with full-cycle payroll processing using Paychex/Preview or other
similar payroll/human resources processing system is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent communication skills required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret detailed documents.
Ability to prepare financial and budgetary statements and presentations. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions in formal and informal meetings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical and accounting concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.

Exceptional ethics, honesty, and integrity as well as complete respect for confidentiality and the
appropriateness of communications.
High degree of computer skills with exceptional abilities in extensive spreadsheet applications, payroll
software applications, and word processing capabilities. Excellent written and oral communications
required. High degree of attention to detail and organization and the ability to work independently as
directed and assigned. Ability to quickly grasp concepts of new software applications. Professional
demeanor and appearance required.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster a welcoming, effective, and efficient environment for clients, guests,
contractors, employees and co-workers.
