Human Resources Operations Specialist Position Overview: Responsible for the development, coordination and administration of HR processes and programs including HRIS, Payroll, Benefits and Leave and Compensation Administration. Works in close partnership with HR team members to develop and implement effective processes and procedures. Supports the development of HR metrics, data management and analysis, and reporting. Coordinates implementation of various HR systems to support the long-term Human Resources technology roadmap, including system configuration and optimization. Responsible for developing and managing employee data records in the HR system and in employee files. Acts as a point of contact for inquiries involving employee records. Responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, and 401(k) plan. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide expertise to support the development, design, implementation and administration of benefit programs, practices, and policies to meet the changing needs of the organization. Coordinate HRIS implementation and configurations to align vendor systems with HR processes. Ensure accuracy of bi-monthly payroll process including accurate employee records in preparation for bi-monthly payroll, verification of bi-monthly payroll calculation reports, and approval of payroll exception reports Reconcile monthly insurance invoices and prepare for accounts payable process Work with insurance vendors to resolve discrepancies and system related issues Coordinates HR processes such as open enrollment, annual merit cycles and LOA requests Develop reports to identify trends and target solutions Identify and document process improvements and automation opportunity for HR processes at each stage of employee life cycle. Demonstrate understanding of data requirements and structure, table relationships and relational processing of various types of data within the solutions managed to ensure data accuracy Prepares annual Total Rewards Statements Responsible for troubleshooting HR system issues Manage employee concerns regarding their HR records. Ensure that employee records (both electronic and hard copy) are kept up to date and are in order and consistent with M. Holland’s records retention policies and procedures Assist with internal and external audits QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Associate’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field or equivalent work experience 3-5 years HR Operations experience with demonstrated proficiency in HR processes (Benefits, Payroll, HRIS) and data Demonstrated expertise with a HRIS systems, including the ongoing maintenance of system configurations to align with HR processes Demonstrated knowledge of HR employment law, benefit regulations, and compensation practices Prior experience owning continuous improvement and system-related projects Thorough knowledge of and experience with MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint Certification in Benefits Administration or Payroll a plus
