Grading: Grading is based upon total numeric points. Tests, quizzes, projects, activities, etc. have different point
values based upon complexity.
Homework: I do not assign written or reading homework on a daily basis but remember that arriving to class
with all your “tools for learning” is considered homework. When homework is assigned and you know you
cannot complete it because you either have too much homework or too many activities, please discuss that with me
when it is assigned rather than not turning it in.
Tests/Projects/Assignments: Tests, quizzes, quizzes and other assignments are given throughout the year.
Plenty of notice is given to study or complete work. Students must plan their time wisely.
Missed Classes: Student can check the 6A website (updated daily) for their homework assignments. Students,
who are absent from school, should see me the day they return to arrange to make up class work and homework.
Handouts that were distributed are located in a basket on my desk and sometimes online. Students who are in
school but miss class are expected to have work in on time. (They should see me before a day in advance if they
know they will miss class or when they arrive to school – if late or before leaving early)
Parent Involvement: Parents are encouraged to help foster good work habits for their child at home by
checking their child’s agenda book to see that they are recording assignments. Please contact me at any time to
share information about your child.
\
Class Expectations: Enter quietly with tools for learning ( agenda book, Soc. St. binder, sharpened pencil,
pencil case and anything else you were asked to bring that day), copy your homework in you agenda, take out
what you need for class and put away what you do not need, sit quietly and wait for directions.
Misc. You may type or hand write any work unless specified. ALL typed work MUST be 12-point font, 1.5 or
double spaced, printed in black ink only and Times New Roman or Ariel fonts are the ONLY acceptable fonts.
HANDWRITTEN work must be legible. Print or use cursive. Skip lines if you have difficulty writing neatly or if I
tell you to. All paper must be clean and free of tears.
