Course Description
This course will provide an overview of the major periods or ages in ancient history, which
set the stage for the development of modern civilization. Units will provide political,
economic, and geographical insights.
Objectives: Major objectives of World History include:
1. Describe, explain, and analyze how geography influenced the development of
civilizations.
2. Identify, describe, and analyze social and political developments for each
civilization.
3. Describe, explain, and analyze technological advancements for each civilization.
4. Explain and describe religious beliefs for each civilization.

Classroom Guidelines
1) Bring all necessary materials to class. You will not be allowed to
leave class to get them.
2) Take care of restroom needs and drinks before you come to class.
3) Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings. If you are
outside the classroom when the bell rings you will be counted
tardy.
4) If you are given time to work on an assignment in class, stay busy
and quiet.
5) You are responsible for getting any assignments missed. You will
be given one day to make it up for every day you missed.
7) Late work will be accepted for reduced credit.
8) Respect your classmates. Do not interfere with another students
learning.
