Poetry Presentations
Check for assigned poems, partners and due dates. If you are absent the day of your presentation, you
will receive a zero.
Assignment:
To explicate the poem for your classmates using TPCASST and any researched analysis of the
poem(s), NOT the poet or time period.
1. Read the assigned poem to the class.(provide copies and put on Elmo).
2. 10 min. Explicate and analyze the poem for all relevant literary devices and form.
3. 20 minutes for students to fill out style analysis form responding to prompt INCLUDING writing
the paragraph.
4. EACH of the presenters is to write a separate essay based on the prompt found at the end of your
poem hand out. These essays must include and AP Introduction and three paragraphs on any
elements of style that we have learned thus far: diction, detail, point of view, organization) AND A
CONCLUSION. THE ESSAY IS DUE THE DAY OF YOUR PRESENTATION AND MUST BE
SUBMITTED TO TURNITIN.COM
5. Please include a Works Cited page to give credit to ANY critical source that you used other than
the handout itself.
This assignment will be worth a MAJOR test grade.
