Chapter 7 , section 10-1, and 18-3 Kingdoms and
Domains
1. Be able to compare and contrast the characteristics of prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells.
2. Be able to discuss contributions by Hooke, Leeuwenhoek, Schleiden, Schwann and Virchow to the discovery
of cells and to the cell theory.
3. Know the parts of the cell theory.
4. Be able to identify all cell parts as well as be able to describe their functions.
5. Know the parts of a microscope and their functions.
6. Be able to compare and contrast plant and animal cells.
7. Be able to discuss and describe the cell membrane and how its structure influences its function.
8. Compare and contrast active and passive transport.
9. Be able to discuss the types of passive transport
10. Understand and be able to explain how the different osmotic solutions affect cells.
11. Be able to discuss the types of passive transport.
12. Be able to give examples of each type of transport and the types of molecules that utilize each type.
13. Be able to describe the three domain system of classification of living organisms.
14. Be able to differentiated between the 4 kindgoms of Euarkya.
TEST: Monday, October 31st
The test format will be a combination of multiple choice, open response, fill in, matching, and identification
questions.
