Mr. Suraj Shetty

Suraj Shetty leads Cisco’s Worldwide Service Provider Marketing organization as Vice
President, responsible for the marketing of Video, Mobility, Data Center and Routing and
Switching solutions for service provider companies globally. Enabling Service Providers to
transform into Experience Providers by delivering rich Connected Life experiences through
medianet and the Internet Protocol Next Generation Network (IP NGN) is his principal area of
focus.
Suraj is a well recognized Cisco spokesperson among press, industry analysts and investors. An
acknowledged marketing innovator, he has successfully pioneered several marketing launches
using ‘Visual, Viral & Virtual’ approaches. Suraj also contributes thought leadership to the Cisco
Visual Networking Index (VNI) – a study that forecasts and tracks global IP traffic growth and
has been cited by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and others. Suraj is a frequent
speaker at industry events and symposia and is also focused on the acceleration of advanced IP
technologies through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), 3GPP and other
industry standards bodies.
Suraj has held many product management and product marketing roles in DSL, ATM, broadband
aggregation and core/edge routing as well as channel marketing during his 13 years at Cisco.
Prior to joining Cisco, Suraj served as a Senior Engineering Consultant at Eicon Technology,
focused on Systems Network Architecture (SNA) gateway and routing solutions.
Suraj holds a M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio,
and a bachelor of engineering degree in electronics and communications from Karnataka
University in India. He lives in San Jose, California with his wife and two children.
