The Central Processing Unit of Human Body
Cardia(Greek term) means Heart.
Cor(Latin term) means Heart
It is the restless organ of the body.
It is the functional unit of circulatory system.
It is the hollow, conical and muscular central pumping organ maintains circulation of
blood in body. Heart is present in oblique manner in mediastinum(mid part of
thorasic Cavity) in between to the lungs . Its length is 12 c.m and breath is
9c.m.Human heart is a 4 chambered upper 2 are called ventricles are larger than
auricles.
Function of Heart
1. The rhythmic contraction and relaxation of central pumping organ heart helps in
circulation of blood to tissue and to heart.
2.Contraction of heart chambers is called systole and relaxation is called diastole.
3.Deoxygented by blood through superior and inferion venacava and coronary
sinus enters to right auricle .
4.Oxygenated blood through pulmonary veins enter the left auricle .
