Order real numbers
Real Numbers: all positive numbers, all negative numbers,
and zero. (Everything on the number line).
Example: Plot the following points on the number
line…

Convert all of these to decimals to make it simple to compare.
Then place them on the number line...
3.14 , 6.25 ,  5 , 1.73 , 0.44
Example: Place the following numbers in the correct order...
π , 9.4 , –9.7 , 2
Convert all of these to decimals to make it simple to compare.
Then place them in order using inequalities...
3.14 , 9.4 ,  9.7 , 1.41
By looking at the number line, the correct order is as follows:
9.7 
2    9.4
