ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Ms Lovleen Walia began her career in the arts and entertainment field when she was
selected to represent Singapore in the contest, Zee, India‟s Best – Cine Star Ki Khoj, an
international competition held by Zee Television. She was chosen as the only
international participant for the finals out of one million hopefuls throughout Asia. She
holds the title for being the first, and currently, the only Singapore citizen till date, to
establish a name and career in much sought after Bollywood. Working with some
renowned production houses, her work has been showcased in hit television serials
such as Astitva Ek Prem Kahani (Zee TV) and Meera (NDTV Imagine).
Lending her talent not just to media abroad, she has also worked in Singapore. She
played the protagonist in a 90-minute tele-film production for Channel 5‟s “Love Stories –
The Anthology Series” titled “Blue Window” (Oak Three Productions). She has the
privilege of experiencing film, television and even theatre. Despite being a foreigner to
the Hindi language, she played the protagonist in a Hindi theatre production titled “Jhoot
Bole Kauwa Kate” (2010). Her passion for events has led her to plan, organise and
supervise various functions. Not known to many, she also contributed to the Singapore
Youth Olympic Games (2010) by representing the Producer of the Opening and Closing
Ceremonies.
Modelling is also an experience Lovleen has been blessed with. Her work includes
walking the ramp for high profile fashion designers such as Vikram Phadnis. She has
also lent her face to various clothing lines such as Dressline, Friendship and Chabra
555. Lovleen has provided voiceovers for several documentaries. She has also been
honoured by being given the platform to judge several interschool dance and talent
competitions. She has been a master of ceremony at many special occasions. Some
shows which she holds closest to her heart include the Singapore National Day Dinner
in New Delhi (2005), Zee Nite in Singapore (2006), Zee Carnival in Singapore (2007),
and the two consecutive sold-out concerts of the King of Sufi, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
(2010).
Lovleen has been the Brand Ambassador and Director of Body Spa International, an
international SPA chain in India, from 2004 till the present day.
Her most recent event was a “Paint for Charity” drive in April 2011, where funds were
raised for „Save The Children‟, the world‟s leading independent organisation for children.
This was done in conjunction with “Save The Children Week” for the children who were
affected by the tsunami and earthquake in Japan.
She currently runs her own company, Kri Art and Theatre Singapore (KRI), where she
aims to establish the Indian dramatic and theatrical arts scene locally, and to aid and
supervise aspiring actors and performers to attain a platform in the performing arts
sector.
