Harbor Theatre to present an industry reading of
Stuart Warmflash’s
The Mask of the Jaguar King

New York: On May 20, Harbor Theatre to present an invite-only reading of The Mask of The
Jaguar King , a project written by Stuart W arm flash and directed by Bram Lew is, with
lighting by Dennis Parichy and original music by Peter Calo. For more details regarding this

Starring “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” Katherine Erbe and “Desperate
Housewives’” Ricardo Chavira, The Mask of The Jaguar King is a
religious mystery pitting the politics of imperialism against the desires of the
heart. In 1933, a battle of the sexes breaks out when an American
archaeologist finds herself stranded at the site of a Mayan Temple with a
dangerous Hispanic revolutionary intent on stealing priceless ancient artifacts. As they slowly
unmask each other’s dark personal secrets it remains unclear, who is the real outlaw?
To
whom does history belong? And does the value of preserving the past justify the injustices of
the present?
W ho’s W ho:
STUART W ARMFLASH (Playwright), the Artistic Director of the non-profit Harbor Theatre,
has written and directed award-winning plays which have been presented throughout the
United States and England, most recently Shortly After Takeoff starring Patricia Kalember. His
play, Owning the Knuckleball, was developed at the prestigious National Playwrights
Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. He has also written for television and
scripted the theatrically-released, award-winning, full length documentary, Unforgotten: 25
Years After Willowbrook. In the corporate arena, his clients include Discovery Networks,
Showtime, Sony, Samsung and Pfizer among others. In addition to his multi-decade theatrical
career, Mr. Warmflash has a Masters in Anthropology and another in Special Education and
now devotes his afternoons to assisting students with learning disabilities.
BRAM LEW IS (Director): Studied at the Central School, London, where he met Stuart
Warmflash. Credits include: Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alaska Rep, Brooklyn Academy of
Music, Cincinnati Playhouse, Hartford Stage, The Public Theatre, Stratford Festival Theatre,
numerous appearances on TV and Soaps, '88-'98 ran The Phoenix Theatre where he worked
with Alan Arkin, John Barton, Ellen Burstyn, Liviu Ciulei, Billy Crudup, Ruby Dee, Marcia Milgrom
Dodge, Tom Fontana, Julie Harris, Michael Patrick King, Maryann Plunkett, Jose Quintero, Ellis
Rabb, Jason Robards, Jay O. Sanders, Frances Sternhagen, Elaine Stritch & many
more. Currently, he is on the board of Project Rushmore Theatre and lives with his daughter
Kaili in Pomander Walk, NYC
PERRY STREET THEATRICALS (David Elliott & Martin Platt, Co-Directors) are in their ninth
year Producing and General Managing in New York. Projects include: Vanya and Sonia and

(Atlantic Stage 2), In The Continuum (OBIE and Outer Critics Circle), an oak tree by Tim

DENNIS PARICHY is an award-winning American lighting designer. Parichy has designed
lights for more than 15 Broadway productions since 1976, including: The Price, The Tenth
Man, Coastal Disturbances, Penn & Teller, Burn This, The Nerd, As Is, Angels Fall, The Best
Little Whorehouse in Texas, Duet for One, Crimes of the Heart, The Water Engine,
and Knock Knock. Parichy has been nominated three times for a Tony Award for his work
on Redwood Curtain, Fifth of July, and Talley's Folly, for which he won a Drama Desk Award.
He was resident lighting designer for Circle Repertory Company where he worked with
director Marshall Mason on the first productions of plays by many American playwrights,
most notably Lanford Wilson. He lit many productions for The Manhattan Theatre Club
(Ashes, End of Play, Valley Song, Playland, The Last Yankee, and Eleemosynary among others)
and continues to design for regional theatres throughout the country.
PETER CALO has been hailed in review as "a master musician" by The Boston Globe;
guitarist, producer, composer, arranger, songwriter, recording artist and performer Peter Calo
stands out as an exceptionally versatile and accomplished talent on the crowded music
scene." (WBZ-TV, Boston) Most recognized for his work with Carly Simon, he has recorded
and performed with such legendary Grammy Award winning artists as James Taylor, Hall and
Oats, and renowned record producer Phil Ramone, to mention only a few. He has performed
on numerous television appearances, among them Good Morning America, Regis and
Kelly, CBS Good Morning and the Late Show with David Letterman both as a band member
and separately with featured guests.
